The Managing Director, Mama Naija Premium Parboiled Rice Hajia Salamatu, on Monday, said the brand has come to stay to support the Federal government’s intervention towards food production and security. Salamatu said this in an interview with PigeonPost Online Newspaper reporter in Abuja. According to her, Mama Naija Premium Parboiled Rice is not just an investment or brand for profit maximization alone, but also to give the Nigerian citizenry the necessary value and nutrition cover for their money.
She also said efforts are on top gear to ensure sustenance of the brand to become the biggest exporter of rice in Africa in the near future, while also boosting food security. “We started in 2018 and today we are ready to move into new market and working towards expanding our production ahead of the demands which we believe would come later. We are ready to take demands from all parts of the country because we have the necessary rice value chain to meet whatever demand we get.” She said
According to Hajia Salamatu, the border closure by the government against unwholesome smuggled rice into the country was the motivating factor that resulted in the production of Mama Naija rice, so Nigerians can eat and enjoy the rich local rice made for them on their own and further build Nigerian economy. Mama Naija Rice is a product of Akuland Farms Limited.
